Thanksgiving Break

I've got some catching up to do, clearly!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love it because I get to see my whole family, Christmas season starts right after the holiday, and because it's the time of the year where Steven is home more than he's away at school, and that's the best.

We always luck out because our anniversary falls right around Thanksgiving. The first Saturday he was home, we celebrated 3 years together. We went to a fun restaurant on the harbor in Newport Beach. Afterwards, we walked around Fashion Island. The giant Christmas tree was already up and we walked around and window shopped. The night was simple and perfect and I loved every second.

Because S doesn't get to come home all that often, he doesn't get to meet my friends or see where I go to school. We had planned for him to come back to school with me on Sunday night but at my school we had a pretty scary meningitis outbreak, so we decided to play it safe and just stay in Orange County.  It was a pretty good decision because on Monday night we got to go to Disneyland! It was all decked out in holiday decorations and the perfect way to get us in the Christmas spirit.

The rest of the week was consumed with spending time with our families. My aunt, uncle, and cousins were visiting from Utah and it was really nice to visit with them as well. It's a tradition in my family to all get matching pajamas for Christmas. Because we weren't going to be able to spend the holiday with them, we got our pajamas a little earlier this year. It's always so funny to have everyone matching.

One of the last days of the break, we went to Universal Studios with Steven's family. Despite the bad weather, we had such a fun time. I'd never been before and our favorite part of the day was going on the backlot tour and seeing the sets of different movies and TV shows that we love. The park was also decorated for Christmas which made it that much more fun.

It was so nice to be home with Steven and our families. And the goodbye wasn't so bad either because we knew that we'd all be back together in just two short weeks!
